INKA BIKING ADVENTURE - English version

Welcome to join INKA BIKING ADVENTURE

This blog has been specially created for the amazing Adventure Cycling trip that we will go through the ancient lands of the Inkas.

Following find the event’s updated and relevant information to get ready to live the great adventure.

What are the dates?
Start: Oct 12th 2012
Finish: Oct 25th 2012

Where?
In Cusco.

Who can participate?
Anyone is welcome to join the expedition either from the very first day to the end or meet
and join us on any day during the journey.

What the INKA BIKING ADVENTURE is about?
The Inka Biking Adventure is an Adventure Cycling expedition organized by CTP –Cicloturismo Peru through the Cusco region.
The plan is to explore new trails and destinations beyond the common tourist stuff. We intend to reach the native community ventures offering Rural Communitary and Existential Tourism experiences.

The journeys will be on bikes and only if necessary or for time saving reasons we will hire a car for transfers to some remote or too difficult access places.

What is required to participate?
Adventure spirit and lots of enthusiasm.
A mountain bike in perfect condition (we can rent you a bike in case you need).
Basic biking equipment: spare tube, tiere repair kit, air pump, multipurpose tool, front and tail light, rack, panniers, helmet, gloves, sunglasses. Personal equipment: cycling clothing, thermal clothing, sleeping bag and pad, sunscreen

What is the cost?
Registration fee is S/.500 (U$195). On top of this sum you must consider the cost of your personal transport to/from Cusco, accommodation, food and some extra expenses. The group will have access to some free services and facilities that are being coordinated, you will be informed about this.

How to pay?
The registration fee can be paid by Bank deposit

What is included?
The regsitration fee includes the right to participate in the group, logistics support, personal assistance, guides, bike mechanics, medical kit and first aid support in case of need, radio-communication, GPS navigation and remote satellite tracking and messaging support, etc.

What else should I know?
The organizers are working to get some free visits (Fam trips) to the Rural Communitary and Existential Tourism ventures. Some are already confirmed.

Where will we sleep?
In lodges, rural family houses and where Rural Communitary and Existential Tourism ventures are available and probably we will camp one or two nights.
What about acclimatization to altitude?
For the ones not in use with altitude it is necessary to acclimatize 1 or 2 days before departure.

What is the itinerary?
The information will be provided to the confirmed registered participants only.
Briefing
We will meet for briefing and coordinate the details one week before departure.
